What is NextGen Health?
NextGen Health is a youth-led, student-powered journal that publishes original articles, essays, and research summaries in areas like health equity, scientific research, mental health, and public health innovation. We are proud to offer a platform where young changemakers and future leaders can amplify their voices in the healthcare space.
We publish a new issue every month, featuring 10 diverse, high-quality student submissions. These entries may include:
Original research or experimental summaries
Opinion pieces on public or global health issues
Mental health advocacy or analysis
Literature reviews on healthcare disparities
Interviews with healthcare professionals
Personal narratives with a public health lens
Infographics or data visualizations
Reflections on medical shadowing or volunteer work
If it’s thoughtful, youth-written, and connected to health — we want to see it.

To ensure consistency, clarity, and professionalism, all submissions to the NextGen Health Journal must follow these formatting rules:
Format Requirements:
Font: Times New Roman
Font Size: 12 pt
Spacing: Double-spaced
Margins: 1-inch margins on all sides
Length: Minimum 2 pages, maximum 6 pages
File Type: Submit as a PDF or Google Doc
Language: English only
Format Style: APA citation format required
Include in-text citations and a final Bibliography or References page
